Census Extraction Form
In the Census Tracker, click on a specific census year cell to open the Extraction Form. Each form is year specific to the census and will display only information relevant to that particular census. All extraction forms require the place field to be filled out in order to save the census record.
The Extraction form consists of two tables. The top table is the "Extracted Household" and this box should duplicate the information found in the census when fully complete. The bottom box is the "Unassociated Family Members" or the family members expected to be found in the census that are not yet associated with any census record.
During the extraction process, if you find a person on the census in this list, you just click Add in the Unassociated Member box and the name and information is automatically added to the extracted household box. You may have to edit some details, so that it matches exactly what was in the census. If you find a person in the census, that is not in your database, you simply type in the information in the extracted or top box, and a link button appears. Click Link and the individual is automatically entered in your database, again you do not need to retype the information. You can open the individual editor (directly from this view-) to add or change information.
